Law school admissions have always been highly competitive. With so many aspirants competing for limited slots, it remains uncertain if job market decline will persist; in response to uncertainty many schools are taking measures to tighten budgets and tightening belts.

Avoid writing an unoriginal personal statement that simply discusses your desire to “save the world.” Instead, highlight how one particular law school fits with your goals.

New York University

New York University Law School, situated in Greenwich Village, offers students an engaging learning environment characterized by intellectual stimulation and creative exploration. Their education is further supplemented through numerous interactions with leading practitioners and policymakers.

The university is dedicated to providing access to graduate legal education for all its students. To that end, they offer scholarships based on intellectual potential, evidence that they will enrich the educational community, and financial need – these include the Root-Tilden-Kern Scholarship, AnBryce Scholarship and Furman Academic Scholarship as examples – though students are welcome to apply for other selective scholarships as well.
